is the Cameron Crowe film "Elizabethtown"'s soundtrack.
I haven't seen the film. I don't know that I intend to. But I will say this: This night, these songs have proven seminal. There are beautiful, beautiful guitarists featured such as Lindsey Buckingham, Jeff Finlin. There's a cut called "Hard Times" by eastmountainsouth that my I remember my dad playing all the time and it's incredible.
Most of all, friends, I discovered the Gord Downie song. Obviously, authored by none other than Elton John. A cut called "My Father's Gun" from the album Tumbleweed Connection. It's stunning. You can expect to hear it on your next visit...
In the meantime...go find it. But Sharelle, if you read this, and haven't heard it yet, see if you can just wait until next weekend...it'll be grand...
annnd I need to own this album. Kristina, if you buy it before me...i'll kill you. or maybe not. well probably. give or take...

"Learning to Fly" by Tom Petty is a gooder. I saw the film, and what struck me was the soundtrack. It's AMAZING.
Bonnie.
look at this.
Cameron Crowe explaining his soundtrack. it's beautiful.
pay close attention to the part about the road trip where C.C. says, "music is such an indelible part of the road."

I read this whole thing comparing "My Father's Gun" to TD. I mean obviously its not TD, but still, pretty DANG good.
